Only Barnes would return alongside Keaton in Edge of Time, though this concept would later be adapted into the comics as Spider-Verse and on the big screen as 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Centering on a multiverse premise, Shattered Dimensions cast Keaton alongside fellow Spider-Man voice actors Neil Patrick Harris (Spider-Man: The New Animated Series), Christopher Daniel Barnes ( Spider-Man: TAS) and Dan Gilvezan ( Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends) as alternate-dimension Spider-Men working together to stop a common foe.

The show is widely regarded as one of the best Spider-Man adaptations of all time, but it was canceled after 26 episodes due to Disney acquiring the character's rights from Sony Television. Afterwards, Weisman co-created the DC animated series Young Justice, whose fourth season featured recurring appearances by Keaton's League of Shadows mercenary Black Spider - a character whose personality and humor bear a resemblance to Spectacular Spider-Man's lead.ĭespite Spectacular's cancelation, Keaton continued to voice the webslinger in various video games, most notably Ultimate Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Amazing Spider-Man in its sequel, Spider-Man: Edge of Time.
